This raises a deeper question: can Walker live up to the expectations set for him? In my view, the answer is yes. Walker has the athletic ability, smarts, and versatility to be the linchpin of the Falcons defense. His ability to pick up what the coaching staff needs and his varied skill set make him a player who can move around even more than Elliss did. The Falcons are expecting Walker to step in and elevate the defense, and if he can grow into that role, this defense has the chance to surprise yet again in 2026. However, it's important to note that replacing Elliss isn't a one-man job. Walker will be asked to do most of the job in spirit, if not specifics. The team will need to fill in the gaps and plug in where there might be weaknesses or needs on a weekly basis. Overall, the Falcons are counting on Walker to be the caliber of player they envision him to be, and if he can deliver, this defense has the potential to be even better than it was in previous years.
